Get ready for what these two are charging up! Kanye and Jay are working on a collaboration album which will be titled "Watch The Throne." The song is titled "Otis" after the american soul singer Otis Redding. I'm pumped to see whats coming next from the Jay-West collab. Kanye West & Jay-Z-Otis
In TTC's quest to make it to the top, he's found himself on tracks with some of the best in his league. I was never a follower of Pusha T but i love Tyler and OF to death. I was really pumped to hear this track, it has a sick beat and obviously sick rhymes. Tyler always comes out to impress and i'm looking forward to whats coming in the future. Pusha T-Trouble On My Mind (feat. Tyler, The Creator)
Mac Miller drops another sweet track in honour of reaching 600,000 followers on his Twitter. He released this for his fans in appreciation of where they have brought him in the last 6 or 7 months. Not to mention, Mac Miller is preforming tonight at KoolHaus in Toronto. If anybody attended the concert (which most people in Oakville did), then send us some pictures of the concert and we would be glad to put them up. I wasn't able to go...work from 6-9. Can you believe it? Mac Miller-Just A Kid
Just yesterday TBH gave you a video from Mac Miller reguarding his upcoming album "Blue Slide Park". Today, we are showing you an interview with Complex Magazine featuring Mac Miller and the story behind Blue Slide Park.
"Blue Slide Park is a playground/park that’s around the city of Pittsburgh. It’s a spot that we hung out at as little kids. But then we came back when we got older and drank and smoked there. It was the hangout spot. So it’s just a spot for a lot of people’s first memories.
I used to play Little League around there. I remember parties there, running from the cops, just a lot of stuff that I’ve done. Everything from when I was like 6 years old to memories of last night. Actually, last night we released the title so we went down there to go chill and kick it. But right when we rolled in, ten minutes later, cops pulled up. [Laughs.]
[It doesn't have a date but] it will be out soon. I don’t have a required thing that I have to have a date and meet it. It’s coming out through Rostrum in the fall, and I want to do it when it feels right to me." -Mac Miller
This song isn't that new, but i found it a while ago. I have always had an interest in The Beatles, mostly because of my dad. So when i saw these i had to pick them up. The first song is a totally new remix of A Day In The Life off their Sergent Peppers and The Lonley Heart's Club Band which was released in the 60's. Probably one of their most career changing albums. However, the remix is sick. I love the urban hip-hop beat in the background. For sure not a waste of a great song. Cee-Roo-A Day In The Life
Here's a newer song. Completely different from the last one. This song was put together while Laws and Paul McCartney were in a Sony studio writing down piano and guitar riffs. It's a sick hip-hop beat and the lyrics are dope. It sounds like a new-york underground rap, which is nice every now and then. Momma Miss America-Laws & Paul McCartney
Never was, never will be a fan of Trae Tha Truth but this song caught me for the beat, and the featured artists. This is one of those songs where you can pick out who makes it and breaks it. For instance, Wiz MAKES the song but on the other hand, Wale...not so much. I don't know, maybe it's just me but this song was good and bad for me. I'm sure once i start listening to it more ill warm up to it, but it was kind of a hit and miss. For sure check it out though. Trae Tha Truth-I'm On (feat. Lupe Fiasco, Big Boi, Wale, Wiz Khalifa & MDMA)
Good line-up of Hip-Hop. Asher throws a new track featuring Quan which shows a new side of Asher Roth. He seems more chill now, rhyming about important real life shit. Not much to say though about it so give it a listen and see what you think.
Asher Roth-Summertime (feat. Quan)
Alright now G-Eazy is a new name to me but KAM Royal isn't. So when i saw this song i was automatically attracted to KAM which lead me to checking out this track. I love it. I have no clue who G-Eazy is, where he's from or even who he raps with. I certainly like this song for the beat and for the samples in the background. I 100% recommend this song to everyone, even if they aren't too sure about it. Listen to it, it will click.
G-Eazy-Well Known (feat. Kam Royal)
Last but not least. A weird, strange and new type of music to me. Sublime drops a track with Wiz Khalifa. I know, weird as hell. Never would have expected it. I'm not too sure about this song. I mean, its a reggae song no doubt but i just don't know if i'm sold on this duo. I guess the songs not bad, but this was put up more for you guys to check out. I want to know what everyone thinks so leave a comment or shoot us a message!
In celebration of reaching 500,000 followers on Twitter, Mac Miller drops his newest single "Family First" with Talib Kweli. Just like many of Mac's new songs, this one was produced by Pac Div, so many there has been some changes up in management? Anyways, laid back song, so chillin to listen to. Enjoy.
Trap music eh? This ones for Daniel Ohorodnyk who got TBH a few more likes on our Facebook Page. He asked me to do a special on Jeezy so I did. Now, i used to listen to him about 3 years ago as i was getting into the rap music world. I liked his stuff because at the time i thought rap should be about gangs and crime but i was wrong. However Jeezy has payed his dues in the industry and i still give him the respect that he has now. I wanted to base this "TBH On" around his older stuff. For two reasons. One, I have a whole collection of his old stuff on my library. And two, from what i have heard of his recent stuff...it's nothing special. Jeezy is a rapper where his older stuff if his better stuff. Much like Weezy and even T.I. Anyways, this playlist shows his depth and his history. This is personally my favourite tracks by him. I know they have been heard by everyone by now but they are still amazing tracks. If i had to narrow it down to one or two i would go with Bury Me A G and And Then What. I love the collaboration between Mannie Fresh and Jeezy. Sick Music!
Young Jeezy-Bury Me A G
Young Jeezy-And Then What (feat. Mannie Fresh)
Young Jeezy-Go Crazy (feat. Jay-Z) [Remix]
Young Jeezy-Streets On Lock
Young Jeezy-I Luv It
Nelly-5000 Ones (feat. T.I., Diddy, Yung Joc, Willie The Kid, Young Jeezy & Twista)-Jeezy at 3:00
Hope that helped you out Danny. I have plenty more Jeezy on my library so if you need more you come to TBH! Thanks for the likes. Keep em coming!
Here we have a good collection of Hip-Hop by some pretty big names. Starting with Boss by Wiz. This is such a sick song. It's a newer style of rap for Wiz, almost reminds me of Tony Yayo (lol). Sick song to blare though. Hard, deep bass and sick synth. Huge hit by Wiz, let's see what hes got next.
Wiz Khalifa-Boss
Curren$y was brought to me by Wiz Khalifa. I don't have a whole lot to say about him because i haven't gone too in-depth with him yet but this is a dope track. I haven't really had anything to complain about on any of Curren$y's music so i would say hes making his way up there.
Curren$y-This Is The Life
Ok, this song is incredible. Anything that Chiddy has been on recently has been sick! His album Peanut Butter And Swelly was insane and now he is following with some singles. Obviously having Big Sean, Wiz and Chiddy on a track is clutch. If you want a real treat, check out Wiz's verse. Classic.
Nothing new to post at the moment but i was jamming out to Asher and i came across this EP. I love this EP more than most of my EP's or albums that i have in my library. Its so different for a hip-hop album. Consisting of 7 tracks, it ranges from deep bass to cheerful breaks. I show this one to anybody who asks me about Asher. This defines him and his sound. Also introduced me to Nottz Raw which i love. Key songs to listen to would be, Dontcha Wanna Be? which is my favourite for sure. Along with that, Enforce The Law and Break Bread. Needless to say the entire album is worth giving a listen. Check it out! In total the songs add up to 27 minutes so its not that bad. I can't add download links for this one but contact Colin @ TBH for links.
Domo Genesis, a member of the infamous OddFuture featuring Tyler, The Creator. Great music. I hated it at the beginning. Stupid beats, dumb sounds. And then i payed more attention to the lyrics...i learned a lot. Damn now i'm hooked on those guys so get ready for more OFWG from TBH.
Chillin song. Got a great beat and sick rhymes. The first song i like by Domo. Honestly...
Good to see Kanye drop a new track. I like this one too. It has a beat that you might find on an album such as Kingdom Come (Jay-Z) but all Kanye's vocals and rhymes. Take a look at this one, mad chillin.
Kanye West-Mama's Boyfriend
Nasty, is the first single on what is going to be Nas's forthcoming tenth studio album which will be titled "Life Is Good." Nas is back!!!!!
Nas-Nasty
Now, XV is an up and comer that i have been following for about a year. He has released 2 albums "Everybody's Nobody" and "Vizzy Zone" followed by "Zero Heroes" which was released a few months ago. Anyways, he is sick. I would call him a mix between B.O.B and Chiddy Bang. So he has a pretty sick style. TBH is giving you his newest piece of work "Phobia" which is a good song. It looks like he is trying out a new style and new foundations for lyrics. We are also giving you a demo of some of his work. These tracks are NOT available for download but they will always be here for you to play!
Founder of both Girl Skateboards and Lakai, Mike Carroll has said to be the innovator of technical street skating in the early 90's. Supreme, which is a growing...trend it seems like. But Supreme noticed what Carroll has done for the industry. They are soon to be releasing two limited colour limited edition Lakai pro models. Sorry for the late notice but the shoes came out on June 1st...but in the states so i guess we'll have to wait. The orange and blue suede shoes are currently being sold exclusively at Supreme stores. Sick picture to go along with it...
Here's a playlist of some new-school hip-hop that i have recently found. Good Life, feautues Drake and he nails it! Everything i have heard from his has been so sick recently. I really hope he continues on with it and releases something new. I'm honestly new to the names Jelani and Sucka Free CJ but i gave their songs a look and i am starting to get hooked.
Here we are again with Royce and Eminem. Good set of tracks with a range of different sound. Whats weird is that all of the Bad Meets Evil tracks MUST be leaks because why would Eminem be throwing out so many singles, he's almost put a whole album together...just with these tracks! However, check it out and see how you like them. Not your usual Eminem.
So TBH has showed you "Heatwave" by Chiddy Bang off his newest album Peanut Butter And Swelly. Now Mac Miller is bringing that collaboration back with Open Your Eyes featuring Chiddy of Chiddy Bang. I cant determine whether or not this song is an aftermath of Heatwave or if it will be on something new. So ill have to play it by ear for now. But as far as the song goes; its a short one but it has a sick beat. Enough DJ Whoo Kidd tags though...
Not a huge fan of Sam Adams so the dubstep instrumentals is what grabbed my attention. However i know Sam Adam's hasn't released a song since February (Letter To The Lost). Here's "Watch Out", his newest track. Crosses over into dubstep which i really like. Take a look.
This video was set to drop this morning at 12:00am but it was leaked shortly before that. "She" featuring Frank Ocean can be found on Tyler, The Creator's most recent album "Goblin." Not your typical music video. But then again, its Odd Future. Nothing is normal with them.
Now i know i'm going to get lots of heat under my ass for this. But i found this song and it's done by Tupac featuring The Game. From what i know, he is dead and that all the talk about him living is all conspiracies. So i'm not really sure what to say about this because when would it have been recorded? Theres no way that this song has been locked in a vault since 1996 (or even longer). Sketchy. At the same time, it has been said that even after Michael Jackson died, there was still about 3+ albums of music still left behind. But Pac has been dead for 15 years now and i'm sure we would have heard some more music by now. I'm not saying anything...
Never really liked Tech N9ne. His style was never really mine. I used to thrive Weezy like nobody else. And i have always thought T-Pain was annoying. But this song brought them all together and it has changed my feelings on all three artists. Sick song, my favourite on it is obviously Lil Wayne. He is back to his comfort zone in rap and he should stay there because all this Bill Gates soft shit, i'm not a human being is dumb.
Tech N9ne-Fuck Food (feat. Lil Wayne & T-Pain)
Funny song. Needless to say i know who Eminem is. But Royce Da 5'9, i first heard on a Classified track. The track was Unexplainable Hunger off Classified's "Boy-Cott In The Industry" which was released in 2005. Still listening to that album. But anyways, Em found Royce and they have been doing some work. They are going by the name Bad Meets Evil so many that is a clue to some upcoming projects that we will be seeing hopefully very soon.
